Selucius Garfielde was a Delegate from the Territory of Washington. Selucius was born in Shoreham, Vermont on Dec. 8, 1822. He moved to Galipolis, Ohio and then to Paris, Kentucky where he worked in the newspaper trade. He served as member of the State constitutional convention in 1849. Garfielde immigrated to California in 1851 where he served as a member of the State House of Representatives. He studied law and was admitted to the Bar in 1854.
